about

English:

...And within the ninth wave the gods fell down

This song was composed in 2010 by Diego dos Chechos and Marcos do Relicario as part of the concept "Mitolóxica Errante", serie of pieces where we recreate the erratic spirit of the galician mithology. Mithology that sails beyond the seas of the End of the World and that use to come back often hidden with the wind, under the waters, in the carved stones and inside the fire that burns in the spirit of our imaginary.

Lyrics by Marcos do Relicario. Arrangements by Mileth. Bagpipe arrangements by Xurxo Fernández. Recorded in Vigosónico Studios in April 2013 (Whistles and bagpipes recorded later by Xurxo Fernandez). Mixing and Mastering by Víctor Gómez in December 2013. Artistic design by Xoio Carmesí.

lyrics

Arriba ao teu lar
Compás é teu sangrar
Vermello o rumbo do remar.

Quebrará Nuadha nos cantos crueis.
A lanza de Lug,eclipsada é.

Loitan os remos nas bravas augas
mitos que emigran pola vinganza
Irmáns da dor bátense en ira
quebra a arcana Galicia.

Enigma sen horizonte, ilumínate a lúa.
Guíante os mortos cara unha terra núa
Invoca á nova nai baixo tres caras:
Eiru, Fodla, Banba!

Ousados fillos de Mil,
Inis Ealga invocan para si.
Rapsodia de Aimergin:
na novena onda voltará Ith.

Na pedra de Fál
novos reis,
do Caldeiro de Dagda
brotará hidromel.

Crisol de palabras sen batalla
Naufraga o trance da vinganza.
Nove ondas verdes, nove augas,
no seu útero morre Dana.

Ventos fronte o forzado xerminar,
Invocan dagas sobre os reis de Temair.
Seducida dama, deixa penetrar:
Eremon, Eber, no húmido lar.

Ousados fillos de Mil,
Inis Ealga invocan para si.
Rapsodia de Aimergin:
na novena onda voltará Ith.

Quen limpa o pétreo altar?
Quen onde se pon o sol?
Quen é salmón nas montañas?
Quen é valoroso boi?

Quebra a espada de Nuadha
Sobre os nosos cantos crueis
Lug non sacia ao astro sol
novo Ogham para os Gaels.

Quen dá nome as montañas?
Quen mora súas entrañas?
Que bardo vitorias canta?
Que sátiro poemas cala?

A pedra de Fál berra
O nome dos novos reis.
Do Caldeiro de Dagda
Brota a feixe o hidromel

lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
la, ra, la, ra, lai.

Cantos ao Norte,
envólvenme as augas da morte,
Penetran en min as espadas,
esquecendo a vosa Brigantia
na novena onda.

lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
la, ra, la, ra, lai.

English:
Arrive at your home
the rhythm is your bleeding
red is the course of the row

Nuadha will break into the cruel chants
The Spear of Lug is eclipsed

The oars are fighting in the fierce waters
Myths that migrate searching for vengeance
Brothers of pain clash in wrath
The arcane Galicia is cracking

Enigma without horizon, you're enlightened by the moon
The dead are leading you towards a naked land
Summon the new three-faced mother:
Eiru, Fodla, Banba!

Courageous children of Mil
They summon Inis Ealga for themselves
Aimergin's rhapsody
Ith will return within the ninth wave

In Fál's Stone
new kings
of Dagda's Cauldron
mead will flow

Crucible of words without battle
The trance of vengeance shipwrecks
Nine green waves, nine waters
in their womb Dana dies

Winds in front of the forced blossom
invoke daggers over the kings of Temair
Seduced lady, let them pierce
Eremon, Eber, in the moist home

Courageous children of Mil
They summon Inis Ealga for themselves
Aimergin's rhapsody
Ith will return within the ninth wave

Who cleans the stoned altar?
Who where the sun sets?
Who is salmon in the mountains?
Who is the brave ox?

Nuadha's Sword breaks
on our cruel chants
Lug cannot quench the sun star
a new Ogham for the Gaels

Who gives the mountains a name?
Who dwells in its depths?
Which bard sings of victories?
Which satyr silence the poems?

Fál's Stone shouts
the name of the new kings
of Dagda's Cauldron
mead endlessly flows

lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
la, ra, la, ra, lai.

Songs from the North
the waters of death surround me
the swords are piercing me
forgetting your Brigantia
within the ninth wave

lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
lai, la, la, la, ra,
la, ra, la, ra, lai.
